BEST OF.
The Leverkusen Jazz Days belong to the Champions League of jazz festivals in Europe and are Germany’s largest and most renowned festival. Every year, more than 20,000 visitors make the pilgrimage to Leverkusen to experience the unique atmosphere up close. From Ray Charles to Jamie Cullum, many great names have been on stage in Leverkusen and couldn’t help but become fans of this festival. At the same time, the programme is opening up more and more to all kinds of genres and crossings from jazz to singer/songwriter to rap and hip hop. “Music is our future, song is the expression of humanity’s intelligence and jazz is ambivalent curiosity.” Whoever may have said that. It’s true. The Jazz Days have been renewing themselves time and again since 1980. Not least thanks to the Future Sounds. This most important and successful jazz prize for musicians under 35 is an integral part of the Jazz Days. All this fills us in Leverkusen with pride.
